Showcase Scenes and Monologues

Your showcase is your calling card.  As an actor, it's often the first time your potential next employer will see you in motion, hear your voice, and see how you move.

Unfortunately, in the past, actors had very little control over what went into their reels.  They pretty much had to fill it up with whatever jobs they were able to get. And in a world where actors can't really afford to say no to work, those work samples are almost always guaranteed not to align with the vision you have for yourself as an actor.

The good news is those days are gone!  We now live in an age where we can get access to the kind of film equipment that allows us to record high quality content that features us in your best light, with production values matching TV and film.  So now, even if your actual work samples are minimal, or don't feature you enough or in the right way, you have the ability to rewrite that narrative, and produce scenes that show you embodying the type of roles you envision for yourself.

In addition to shooting showcase scenes for actors, I also specialize in something I like to call the "staged monologue". This is one of your monologues, but produced in a filmic setting, placing you into the world of the monologue, and it helps producers, directors and CDs visualize you in the roles they are casting.

Rates

My rate for most sessions is $1200, which includes a full day shoot and all editing.  The number of scenes and/or monologues we can capture in that time depends on how short and simple the material is, but usually we are capable of shooting up to three showreel scenes per day, each 1 minute or less in duration.  I recommend that actors work together as a pair or trio in order to share the expense of the shoot. Three actors doing three scenes together results in each actor walking away with two distinct showreel scenes with different actors.
